Lei Feng was always thinking of ________ he could help others.
这里的宾语从句,为什么只能填how不能填that?

Lei Feng总是想着他（怎么）才能帮助别人.
这里少的是一个方式状语.
如果说：
Lei Feng was always thinking of what he could do (to help others)
Lei Feng总是想着他能做些什么,以帮助别人.
thinking of what he could do
what he could do 就是think of 的宾语了,后面括号内的：(to help others)就变成目的状语了
再问：如果填that的话 Leifeng总是想着他能帮助别人，感觉也没什么不对啊。状语又不是一个句子中必须的成分
再答： Lei Feng was always thinking of （that） he could help others. 你觉得通，但是这样说，就把：Leifeng说得很自大。这是逻辑性上不合的，虽然语法上通。应该译成； Leifeng总觉得，他能帮助别人。（自己很了不起~这自然是错的。）语法对，意思不对（that 后面是同位语从句。）
再问：如果是同位语从句的话，先行词在哪？应该是宾语从句吧。。。 3楼的说think of后面不能接that，有这种说法么？
