表达是不是应该改成这样：i was surprised to see the old man.

e surprised 固定搭配的,感到惊奇,后面加从句；
后面的when 在这里最好不要去掉,因为表示当看到那位老先生的时候
be surprised to do这样的用法也有的,但是在这个语境里不能这样用
eg;you might be surprised to learn just how connected the two events
actually are.
