offer valid if reply here 5 days.” Two days later, Y cabled back, “Accept your
offer shipment immediately.” X didn’t reply. Two more days later, X received Y’s
L/C requiring immediate shipment. At this time, the market price of the goods
went up by 20%.
What options did X have to deal with Y?

1。Y在5天内确认了订单，并开出了L/C，所以，理论上，X应该是需要执行该订单。
2。X可以先邮件给对方，确认如下: thanks for your order & L/C . but we will arrange the shipment after 50days , as we need time prepare the goods . 既确认合同（按照约定），同时告诉对方，交期不能立刻安排，需要安排在50天以后。这样，如果Y确实很着急要这批原料，那或许他只能放弃这个机会，寻找其他供应商（或为了提前交货，和X重新议价）。而如果Y不是很着急，接受了这个交期的话，那么X可以用这个时间（50天），做一个套期保值，至少不会再产生更多的价格方面的损失了。
